Why We Built GhostChart
If you trade Bitcoin, you probably use TradingView. It is the industry standard for charting, and for good reason — it is powerful, feature-rich, and has a massive community. We used it too. Every day. For years.
But there is a problem. TradingView was designed for desktop first, multi-asset breadth, and social features. If you are a BTC trader on mobile — and let us be honest, that is where urgent trading decisions happen — the experience is frustrating. We got tired of that friction. So we built something new.
The Mobile Problem
Try changing a timeframe on TradingView mobile during a volatile move. Count the taps. Now try adding a quick trendline. Or setting a price alert. Or adjusting a stop loss. Every action takes too many taps, too much scrolling, too much cognitive load.
When BTC drops 5% in 10 minutes, you need to react in seconds, not fight your charting app.
The fundamental issue is architectural: TradingView's mobile app tries to shrink a desktop interface onto a 6-inch screen. Toolbars, panels, settings, social features, and ads compete for the same limited space. The chart — the thing you actually came for — gets squeezed.

What We Optimized For
GhostChart makes one bet: a BTC-focused, mobile-first charting app can be meaningfully better than a general-purpose desktop-first tool adapted to mobile. Here is what that means in practice:
- 60fps WebGL charts that feel native, not like a webview wrapper. We test on mid-range devices like the Galaxy A54 and Pixel 6, not just flagship phones.
- One-tap timeframe switching — no menus, no dropdowns, no reload wait. Tap and the chart is already there.
- Gesture-based drawing with a dedicated mode toggle. Outside draw mode, your finger pans and zooms. Inside draw mode, your finger draws. No ambiguity, no accidental lines across your chart.
- Smart alerts that understand BTC volatility patterns — percent-change alerts, funding rate triggers, volume spike detection, and liquidation cascade warnings.
- Trade from the chart — market, limit, stop, and OCO orders in fewer taps than any competitor. Drag your SL/TP lines directly on the chart.
Speed-to-Action: Measured, Not Claimed
We benchmark every critical workflow against TradingView on the same device. If we are not measurably faster, we do not ship.
| Action | TradingView Mobile | GhostChart |
|---|---|---|
| Move stop loss | 4+ taps (modal) | 1 drag gesture |
| Set price alert | 5+ taps | Long-press chart |
| Switch timeframe | 2 taps + reload wait | 1 tap, instant |
| Add indicator | 3+ taps + search | 2 taps |
BTC-First, Not BTC-Only
We are not building a general crypto platform. For the first 12–18 months, GhostChart is exclusively Bitcoin. This constraint is a feature.
By focusing on one asset, every indicator is tuned for BTC volatility. Every alert template is designed for BTC patterns. Default RSI periods, EMA lengths, and Bollinger Band widths are set for Bitcoin's volatility profile, not the S&P 500's. When you open GhostChart, you see a BTC chart. That is it. Every pixel of screen real estate serves your trading workflow.
- Pre-selected BTC/USDT as the default pair. No searching, no scrolling through asset lists.
- Native derivatives data — funding rates, open interest, liquidations, and basis spreads built in, not community scripts of unknown quality.
- Zero UI clutter — no asset picker, no market scanner, no equity screener, no social feed. Just the chart you came for.
Alerts Built for a 24/7 Market
TradingView's alert system was designed for markets that close. BTC never sleeps. A price alert set on Friday evening might trigger at 3 AM Sunday when liquidity is thin.
GhostChart's alerts are built for this reality:
- Server-side evaluation — your phone can be off and alerts still fire. We target delivery within 1 second of the trigger condition.
- Crypto-aware conditions — percent-change alerts (“alert me if BTC moves 3% in 5 minutes”), funding rate alerts, volume spike alerts, and liquidation cascade alerts.
- Alert escalation — if a push notification is not acknowledged within 60 seconds, escalate to SMS or a persistent alarm. When BTC drops 5% while you are sleeping, a notification badge is not enough.
No Social Clutter
TradingView has evolved into a social network for traders. Ideas, streams, chats, public scripts, and reputation systems all compete for your attention while you are trying to trade.
GhostChart has no social features. None. Your charting tool should not compete for your attention. When you open GhostChart, you see your chart, your indicators, your alerts, and your positions. Nothing else. The performance benefits are real — no social layer means no social data to load, no feed to render, no notifications to process. The app is faster because it does less.
Try the Beta
We are opening GhostChart to a small group of beta traders. The full app is free during beta — real-time charts, alerts, indicators, and trading. No credit card required.
If you are a BTC trader who has ever been frustrated by your charting app on mobile, we built this for you. Join the waitlist.
